Immigration medical exam

Based in Moncton, New Brunswick, our clinic is designated by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to offer Immigration Medical Exams for those applying for Canadian permanent residence, visitor, student and work visas and refugee status.

You may be exempt from an Immigration medical exam (IME)

You may be exempt from completing another IME if you meet all of these conditions:

You applied, or are applying, for either permanent residence or temporary residence.
You already live in Canada.
You completed your previous IME in the last 5 years.
Your previous IME indicated a low risk or no risk to public health or public safety.

Booking

Booking an appointment takes three steps:

Pick a date
Enter your personal information
Pay the deposit

After completing all of the above, you will get a confirmation email with the appointment day instructions.

Exam day

The exam takes approximately one hour. Arrive a few minutes early. Review the required documentation before your appointment, such as your original passport or Refugee ID, and the IMM1017 form if applicable.

All current medications
IMM1017 form if you have been issued one. It is NOT REQUIRED for an Upfront Medical.
Prescription glasses or contact lenses
A small passport-size photo

Exam fees

11 years and older	$200
Under 11 years	$180

If you paid the deposit while booking, the deposit will be deducted from your total.

Important: If you have a previous or existing medical condition, bring any medical reports, test results or prescriptions that you may have. This may help reduce the time it takes for your application to be processed.

The exam

The medical exam may include, but is not limited to:

Vision test
Urine sample collection
Physical exam

Language

We serve patients in both English and French. If you require an interpreter, please bring them with you on the day of your exam.

After the exam

Before leaving the clinic, you will be given an information sheet, the proof of your eMedical document, with your photo and case number, to be uploaded to IRCC. Your results are sent directly to IRCC.

Location

The exam takes place at our office in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, at 350 St-George St., suite 204, E1C 1X1.

X-ray and blood test

After your exam with us, you must complete an X-ray and blood test at Moncton Hospital.

X-ray: We book the appointment for you and will send you an email with the date and time.
Blood test: We give you the phone number to call. Have it done on the same day as your X-ray.
Payment: At the hospital, first go to the finance department and pay the applicable fees.
Cost: $203.10. Prices are subject to change without notice.
Results: We forward them to IRCC within 10 days. You don't need to call the office.

Questions

Do I need the IMM1017 form?

Bring it if you have been issued one. It is NOT REQUIRED for an Upfront Medical.

How long does the exam take?

Approximately one hour. Arrive a few minutes early.

Can I get service in my language?

We serve patients in English and French. If you require an interpreter, please bring them with you.

Where are the X-ray and blood test done?

At Moncton Hospital. First go to the finance department and pay the applicable fees ($203.10; prices are subject to change without notice).

Who sends my results to IRCC?

We do, within 10 days of the tests being done. You don't need to call the office.

What do I receive after the exam?

An information sheet, the proof of your eMedical document, with your photo and case number, to upload to IRCC.

Can I book in person?
